Character Bios for movie Sandlove

Otis- is an average high school student trying to get by. His hair is dark brown, which seems black, his cheeks are covered in freckles and he has very light skin that looks almost pale. He isn’t your ideal heart throb, but there’s a certain awkward cuteness to him that makes him approachable. Otis keeps to himself most of the time and is a sweet guy. Otis is extremely intelligent and enjoys reading and watching movies. He is humorous and can have fun and let loose if he allows himself too. However, Otis is very anxious and is usually the one taking care of his best friend Josh when things get out of hand. Otis struggles to talk to girls, but is very considerate of the few friends he has and truly appreciates them. He spends his days fantasizing about being with his best friends’ girlfriend, Diana. Otis refers to himself as ordinary and feels as though a girl like Diana could never love him.

Josh- is confident and an overachiever. He has floppy brown hair and is moderately fit and handsome. High school has been his prime time and he fears the real world because he won’t be the king out there like he is at school. He met Otis in elementary and they have been friends ever since. Otis is the only guy to know his deepest darkest secrets so no matter what societal status he lands on he will always be best friends with Otis. Otis knows the real Josh. However, as much as Josh loves Otis like a brother, he does get frustrated with him sometimes because of his very bashful and insecure nature. He wants Otis to grow and widen his horizons. Josh is ambitious and a risk seeker which is why Diana is attracted to him. He is confident and doesn’t let anyone tell him what to do.

Diana- she is beautiful and kind. She has short curly brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. Ever since middle school she has been in love with Josh. He had helped her learn to play the guitar in band and ever since then they have been inseparable. Getting close with Josh meant getting close with Otis which wasn’t a problem because Diana gets along with everyone. She cares about Otis like a brother and loves Josh like a future husband.
