Knowledge is cool

I’ve learned a lot so far being in this class. We’ve gone into depth about the terminology used in film, such as the differences between shots, angles and takes. We have been able to watch scenes from movies and pin point each type of shot. I’ve never been able to do that before. I’m also able to identify what will happen next based on the shot taken by the director for the scene. This experience has been great. I’m able to take notes and then test my knowledge with the use of examples provided to me and quizzes. I feel comfortable learning in this class because it’s always a discussion about interesting topics. It’s always a question of ‘why did the director do this’ and ‘what is he trying to tell the viewer’. Here are questions I never thought of asking myself before while watching a movie. I love watching behind the scenes of movies and now I can truly understand what the behind the scenes truly entails.
